OPEN ALL BREED HORSE SHOW. GYMKHANA IS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2021. Starts at 4:00 pm. ENGLISH IS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2021. Starts at 8:00 am. WESTERN IS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2021. Starts at 7:00 am. There are photos of the flyer, class list, etc. attached to this posting. THE FLYER WITH MORE INFORMATION + CLASS LIST CAN ALSO BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE FOR THE SIERRA FOOTHILLS HORSEMAN'S ASSOCIATION AND CAN BE PRINTED OFF: Show starts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday - Gymkhana (entry booth opens at 3:00 p.m. and will remain open during the show). Show starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday - English (entry booth opens at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open all day). Show starts at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday - Western (entry booth opens at 6:30 a.m. and will remain open all day). Western show starts at 7:00 a.m. as we will be having the five Ranch Horse classes first. The horse show is held at the ORANGEVALE PARK HORSE ARENA: 7301 Filbert Avenue, Orangevale (near Hazel Avenue and Oak Avenue). This is a beautiful park. The 200' x 300' arena is all sand and there is also a separate fenced arena for warm-up. Trucks and trailers will actually park on the grass in the park. Lots of shade trees. Covered grandstand for spectators. Free admission for spectators. ENTRY FEES: $4.99 per class. If you are a member of Sierra Foothills Horseman's Association, 4-H, FFA, High School Rodeo, or Pony Club, then the entry fee is $4.50 per class. No extra fees of any kind! No pre-entries - all entries are taken the day of the show. AGE DIVISIONS OF GYMKHANA CLASSES: 9 years and under, 10 to13 years, 14 to 17 years, 18 years & over (age of rider as of January 1, 2021). AGE DIVISIONS OF ENGLISH AND WESTERN CLASSES: 12 years and under, 13 to 17 years, 18 years & over (age of rider as of January 1, 2021). There will also be some 9 years and under classes. Plus a Leadline class and also a Walk Only class both show days. Awards to 1st place in all classes. Ribbons 1st - 6th in all classes. Additional ribbons 7th - 10th in all youth classes. 17 SEPARATE HIGH POINT AWARDS: High Point Gymkhana per each of the four age divisions. High point "Halter Horse" awarded separately both days. High point for each age division awarded separately for English and Western days. High point "Hunter Horse" for Saturday. High point "Ranch Horse" and High Point "Trail Horse" for Sunday. This show has been approved with the: * American Paint Horse Association PAC (Paint Alternative Competition) * Appaloosa Horse Club ACAAP (Appaloosa Competitive All-Breed Activities Program) * Arabian Horse Association OEIP (Open Event Incentive Program) * American Morgan Horse Association OCP (Open Competition Program) * Pinto Horse Association of America OCAP (Open Competition Activities Program) GYMKHANA CLASSES (each class will run four separate age divisions): Single Stake, Speed Ball, Speed Barrels, Texas Flag, Cloverleaf Barrels, and Pole Bending. ENGLISH CLASSES: Halter Hunter Type, Hunter-in-Hand on the Triangle, Bareback Equitation, Leadline, Walk Only, lots of Walk/Trot Pleasure and Walk/Trot Equitation, Walk/Trot/Canter Pleasure and Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation, English Horsemanship, Hunter Under Saddle, and Hunter Hack (held as a rail class with two cross-bar jumps set at 18"). WESTERN CLASSES: Ranch Horse classes (which includes Ranch Trail, Ranch Reining, Ranch Riding, and Ranch Horse Conformation), Halter, Showmanship, Bareback Equitation, Leadline, Walk Only, lots of Walk/Jog Pleasure and Walk/Jog Equitation, Walk/Jog/Lope Pleasure and Walk/Jog/Lope Equitation, Western Horsemanship, and Trail. * RANCH HORSE CLASSES (total of 5) WILL START AT 7:00 A.M. Ranch Horse Trail (held in a separate area with a separate judge) will be held at the same time the Ranch Reining class is held in the main arena - both of these classes are one exhibitor competing at a time. The next class to be held in the main arena is a Ranch Riding Pattern class, also one exhibitor competing at a time. We held the classes this way for our fall show last year and it worked out tremendously well. All of the ranch horse classes were finished before 9:00 a.m. * HALTER CLASSES (starting with class # 6) WILL NOT START BEFORE 9:00 A.M. (and all of the classes will follow after that as listed on the horse show flyer class list). * TRAIL CLASSES (total of 11 classes which also includes a Leadline Trail for riders 7 years and under and an in-hand trail class where the horse is not ridden but is led in hand through the trail course - no age restriction on horse) WILL BE HELD AND JUDGED SEPARATELY FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. The Orangevale 4-H Horse Group will have a food booth at the show, both days, selling good food and cold drinks all day!
