ELMHURST, IL — For the second week in a row, Elmhurst Hospital's coronavirus caseload has been dropping, according to its figures.
On Tuesday, the hospital reported it had six patients with the coronavirus — four who are unvaccinated and two who are vaccinated.
A week ago, the hospital had 15 coronavirus patients.
On June 23, the hospital's coronavirus caseload dropped to zero. It had a handful of cases through July. In August, the number started to rise, reaching 29 on Sept. 2.
As of Tuesday, the hospital had recorded 197 deaths among coronavirus patients since the pandemic's beginning, one more than a week earlier.
Elmhurst Hospital serves an area far larger than Elmhurst.
According to the DuPage County Health Department, Elmhurst is seeing fewer new coronavirus. Last week, it saw 56 such cases, less than the 79 the week before.
