ROYAL OAK, MI — Comedian Jim Breuer said in a FaceBook live post on Friday that he will not perform at the Royal Oak Music Theater on Oct. 1 due to the venue's COVID-19 vaccination mandate.
"The Wellmont Theater, New Jersey. Not doing it. Also, the Royal Oak Theater in Michigan," Breuer said.
"Due to the segregation of them forcing people to show up to prove you're vaccinated, to prove you've had a shot. I am absolutely not doing those shows," he added.
The Royal Oak music Theater is a venue promoted by AEG Presents, who said in August they will require all attendees beginning on Oct.1 to show proof of vaccination before entering one of its venues.

However, despite Breuer's FaceBook post, he is still slated to perform on Oct. 1 at the Royal Oak Music Theater and tickets can still be purchased, according to the Theater's website.
But Breuer also said that "I know I'm going to sacrifice a lot of money, but I'm not going to be enslaved by the system or by money and nor should anyone that wants to laugh or be entertained."
Breuer has over 20 years of stand-up comedy experience and remains a top entertainer. He was also a former Saturday Night Live cast member and was named as one of Comedy Central's "100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time."
