BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham City Council Tuesday approved a $6.9 million road resurfacing project that will affect more than 200 roads in the Birmingham city limits. The list of roads to be fixed in this round of funding can be viewed here. "When speaking to constituents, there is a common thread of people wanting infrastructure needs to be addressed across our city," Council President William Parker said. "I'd like to thank my colleagues on the Council for their continued advocacy on this front and for the cooperation we've had with the mayor and his team." Road conditions in the city were a major factor in the municipal elections, listed among the chief issues facing the city, along with crime and school funding.
