TikTok and Snapchat Question

I'm an older guy not familiar with all of the social media platforms. Wondering if anybody knowledgeable could answer a couple of questions about TikTok and Snapchat. 1. Recently received an email from TikTok to change password. Does this mean somebody is using, or trying to use, my email address for a TikTok account? Impossible to get help/support without an active account. I ignored the email. Maybe someone who is on TikTok can search to see if my email is associated with an active user? 2. Also recently switched to a new local area code phone number for my mobile phone and received a text from Snapchat with a code to change password. Maybe it was for the person who previously had that phone number. Not sure. Also ignored that one, but wondering if I should be concerned. Again, help from Snapchat unavailable without an account. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.
