Description
We need a reliable, capable handy person year-round for various small-to-medium size jobs - small repairs, painting, carpentry and woodworking, caulking/grouting, fixing faucets and knobs, installing closets/shelves, tiling, fixing doors and windows, hanging art pieces, gardening, planting, and similar things.
Current jobs include deck wood replacement, painting deck, and insulation in the outer wall beside some small carpentry jobs.
Our past experience with handy persons has been disappointing as they seem to be not easily reachable or do not answer the phone and disappear after a short stint. Thus, being reliable and easily reachable is high on our list of requirements as is an all-around ability to handle many small jobs as listed above. We also require the person to make runs to the home improvement store to pick up stuff for us, as required on a particular project (you will be compensated for your time to run to the store for materials). Being available at a short notice is a huge priority.
We will be able to pay you $25/hr. Apply only if you can work with this rate. First, we would like to meet with you and discuss the project/s we have in mind and set up a schedule. Depending on how the first project goes, we would like to continue to hire you on various other projects.
Please respond by replying to this email and provide a phone number and email address where you can be reached. We live in South Minneapolis, close to the Lakewood Cemetery. It would be nice if you live close by (we would like the person we hire, to be available at short notice (15-20 minutes drive where possible)).
Please respond with the following:
- Your full and proper name
- Contact Info (email and phone number a must)
- Kinds of jobs you can do (a resume would help but not necessary - a small bio or other description will do)
- References if you can provide a couple (not necessary but nice to have)
Thanks much.
