Description

Come learn the many benefits of practicing Tai Chi. Also known as "moving meditation," Tai Chi can help improve balance, hand-eye coordination, build core strength, and provide a mind-body connection to help reduce stress. Open to people of all ages and abilities, this class does not require any previous experience, and no special equipment is necessary. Wearing comfortable clothing and shoes is recommended. We will be learning the easy Tai Chi Eight Posture Form, which takes about 3 minutes to perform once the sequence of eight postures is learned. It's fun and inspiring. Classes will start off outdoors at Brooks Park in Harwich and then move onto Zoom when the weather is inclement and the season turns into winter. We will meet Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. There is an additional Qigong (energy/breath work) Zoom class that meets on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and is included with participation in the New Beginner Tai Chi class. The cost is $15 per Tai Chi class. As such, if you attend the 2 weekly Tai Chi classes and the Qigong session, the cost is $10 per class. Qigong is directly related to practicing Tai Chi and offers similar benefits. The Qigong exercises are easy to follow and can be done standing or sitting.
