Responsibilities for Roofer: Transport and load/unload roofing materials in truck Lay new roofing materials such as asphalt, wood, steel and plastics Inspect roofing for damage and perform any needed repairs Spray treatment chemicals on roofs and buildings to seal them from water and weather Clean rooftops by removing leaves, and other debris Install insulation materials underneath roofs Use hand tools such as hammers, electric staplers and electric spraying tools Install solar panels on roofs Qualifications for Roofer: Construction safety certification such as OSHA training is a plus Physical fitness level that will allow for quick movement, climbing, bending and lifting heavy loads Previous experience in roofing, construction or related scope of work is preferred but not required Communication and teamwork skills including an openness to receiving feedback from superiors Strong work ethic and desire to perform quality work Endurance to spend hours working in extreme weather conditions such as heat or cold
