I am an avid bonsai lover and am looking for interested properties to allow small collecting hikes in the spring of 2022. Part of the wonderful hobby is the collection of wild and weathered specimens from the natural landscape, called Yamadori. The goal is to collect a unique, and healthy specimen, only if the tree can ensure to survive the process. As collectors, we look at the surrounding terrain, overall tree health, and root structure, to determine this, with only the healthiest and most likely to survive being collected. With proper care, these trees go on to be styled into some of the most astounding pieces of living art one could imagine. My father taught me about proper etiquette when we would hunt when I was younger, so of course, you would never know I was there.
