Fig - Male - African Pygmy Hedgehog Fig is a sweet boy but can be quite shy, especially when meeting new people. He will do best in a home that has patience for bonding & socializing, preferably with hedgehog experience already. He can get startled by sudden noises and movements he is unfamiliar with but once he is comfortable and familiar with his surroundings they won’t bother him as much. Until he gets used to you he will huff and puff and wanna stay balled up. But once you befriend him he is super spunky & adventurous! Fig does wonderful during bath time but can be a bit finicky for nail clippings. He has slightly dry skin but oatmeal baths work at keeping it hydrated. Bath time is a great boning technique for him & was the quickest way he started to trust me and feel comfortable. He loves to run on his wheel at night & snuggle up in his fleece blankets. He also has an Oxbow Timothy Tunnel that he is quite fond of running through 😆 When you wake him up from a nap he will get started and puff up until he realizes the coast is clear. He has a great appetite & tends to keep his room pretty clean other than some food crumbs. He keeps his poos in the litter box & wheel area. If he’s in his room he will spend the day napping away, but if you take him out he will slowly open up and explore his surroundings. He sure is a fun little guy to watch & interact with! He likes to give your hand kisses, it’s his way of saying hello & also checking out who you are. Just make sure your fingers don’t smell like food or he might want a taste 😋 Fig’s exact age is unknown but he is estimated to be around 1 1/2 years old.
