Description

Join us for a day of fun and collaboration along the beautiful Mountain Loop Scenic Byway! - September 25th, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (ish) PNW Sprinter 4x4 Rally - September 25th, Mountain Loop Scenic Byway, Granite Falls, WA, to Darrington, WA Gear up for a meetup, swap meet and “cara-van” trough the picturesque Mountain Loop Scenic Byway, where we will gather for coffee and collaboration starting in Granite Falls, and then a cruise through the “loop” to Darrington. We’ll take stops along the way for group photos/drone videos, further conversation and snacks. Commemorative event stickers and patches will be available for each van (limited supply). Our endpoint in Darrington has an amazing burger joint, Burger Barn, who are creating a special burger just for our group! They also have a nice selection of other drive-in style foods, ice cream and delicious shakes. Of course, there may be some folks who find an ideal spot to camp along the route, so don’t feel obligated to finish the entire loop. Sprinter owners from out of town are welcome! There are many primitive sites, including campgrounds along the river, so feel free to make a weekend (or longer) out of it! Please be mindful of current burn bans. Currently, fires are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN anywhere within our local forests. Additionaly, please retain your trash, grey water and black waste. There are dump/fill stations along I-5, north and south. “Pack it in, pack it out.” The Mountain Loop offers a stunning 52 miles of paved and washboard road, which is usually navigable for 2-wheel drive vehicles. However, if there is significant rain in the area prior to and during the event, 4WD might be necessary. (Not a good road for our 2WD or 3500 friends when it’s muddy.) Date: September 25, 2021 - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (ish) Meet Location: Granite Falls IGA Parking Lot, 115 N Granite Ave, Granite Falls, WA 98252 Van Drool, Swap Meet and Vendors: (10-11:30 am) An opportunity for van drool, vendor promotion and swapping/selling of “useful” items will start at 10 am. Should you have any items you wish to sell or trade, feel free to bring them along! Understand that we will be meeting in a public parking lot, so please keep any items you wish to sell within an “appropriate footprint” near your rig. (Vendors, please see note below*.) Additionally, please do your best to wrap things up by 11:15 am so we can get on the road. There will be other opportunities along, and at the end of the route for further collaboration. Boondocking and Camping There are numerous boondocks and several campgrounds along the route. Please check your favorite boondock app or website. Several of these sites can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mbs/recarea/?recid=17712 Communication During the Rally: Cell service is very spotty in the area, and non-existent in the middle section of the route. Some portions of the road are quite narrow. While we will be using light/hand-signals on the way, please use caution while navigating some of the one-lane sections along the route. Kindly utilize turnouts when appropriate, and if we lose you, we’ll wait up at the next appropriate section for us to reconvene. We will have GMRS radios available at the meetup point for both the lead and end vehicles. For those of you who have GMRS radios, you’re most welcome to join the conversations en route! COVID 19 Protocols: We STRONGLY encourage you to follow and adhere to current CDC/Washington State COVID guidelines and regulations and ask for you to be mindful of proper distancing and mask-wearing etiquette/standards. Extra hand sanitizer and masks will be provided at the meeting point for those who may be in short-supply. While all of us are excited to explore each others’ vans, please ask prior to getting near or inside other rigs. NOTE: Whether you are vaccinated or not, we ask that you mask up in respect of ALL of our attendees. Legal Disclaimer: Attendance is solely at your discretion, and the organizer assumes no responsibility and will be held harmless for injury, damage, illness, recovery, acts of nature, participant behavior, vendor products/services, and excessive fun! In other words, attend at your own risk, but have a blast! *Attention Vendors: Vendors are welcome and free to attend, but since this is our first regional rally, we’d like to keep the number of vendors limited to a select few. Should you wish to participate and promote your products/services, please email [email protected] for approval, and make sure you have some “merch” to give away! :) Join our Facebook Group
