SMU Cox Bridwell Institue's Texas Economic Forum presents: The Texas Model and People of Color Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 6:00pm Crum Auditorium, Collins Center, SMU Campus (Campus map), Parking information can be found below. New Census data show a sharp rise in Texas’ minority populations. Will the state’s economic model of low taxes and light regulations still work in an era of increasing diversity? Markets and minorities – it’s a topic for our times! Speakers Include: Mike Cox, Bridwell Institute, SMU Peter Lewin, Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas Frank Martin, Retired Professor, Southern University of New Orleans General Parking Information. Parking is $10.00 on-site.The Moody Parking Center at the southeast corner of SMU Boulevard and Airline Road. The garage is located at 3063 SMU Blvd., less than half a mile from U.S. Highway 75 (North Central Expressway). The Binkley Parking Center at the corner of Binkley Avenue and Airline Road. The visitor entrance is on Binkley Avenue, and visitors may park anywhere on Level 2 or above. Metered parking is available at various locations around campus. Meters allow for a maximum of three hours at 25 cents per 15 minutes. Please note SMU follows all Dallas County Covid protocols. Any updates or changes to the event will be communicated as they arise. The Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom is a research institute in the SMU Cox School of Business. The Institute was established in 2020 with the generous support of Mr. and Mrs. Tucker Bridwell (BBA ’73, MBA ’74). The Bridwell Institute continues and expands upon the mission of its predecessor, the William J. O’Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom, “to study the impact of competitive market forces on freedom and prosperity in the global economy.” We are forever grateful for the support of William J. “Bill” O’Neil (BBA ’55) and his wife, Fay C.
