Description
Washington State University - Pullman Society of Women Engineers' 18th Annual Evening with Industry The Washington State University student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) would like to invite you to our 18th annual ‘Evening with Industry’ networking and fundraising event. The event combines a social hour and a professional dinner the night before Washington State University’s Fall Career Expo. Evening with Industry hosts a wide range of companies seeking students for both summer internships and full-time post-collegiate positions. The event gives both students and company representatives an opportunity to connect before the busy career fair where time with company representatives may be very limited. Students, both men and women, of all engineering disciplines are invited to join. We hope to see you there! FAQsDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, however we do ask that if you do not print out the ticket that you instead bring the confirmation email up on your smartphone. Are only women invited? No, both men and women are welcome to attend! What is the dress code? Suggested attire is business casual so please dress accordingly. Should I bring a resume? We suggest that you do not bring a resume however, buisness cards are appropriate during the social hour. When should I arrive? We suggest you arrive during the Social Hour, 5:30pm-6:30pm. The earlier you show up the more networking you can fit in though! What dinner options are avaliable? Dinner is buffet style with both meat and vegetarian options. Appetizers, dinner, and dessert are included in ticket price. Through donations, the WSU SWE chapter is able to host recruiting and outreach events and sponsor students to attend the National SWE Conference. The WSU chapter has hosted many successful events, such as Kid’s Science and Engineering Day. At this event, various student clubs from WSU hold interactive booths that educate and entertain kids with STEM related activities. We also hold bi-monthly meetings where we share pertinent information regarding upcoming events or activities, as well as academic and professional opportunities for the students. Your contributions would help benefit these events, as well as various social activities that serve to provide a more casual setting for members to interact and begin vital friendships. Any support to continue these activities and events would be extremely beneficial, not only to the chapter but to each individual student.
