Part concert, part theatre, The Soldier’s Tale is your classic devil-went-down-to-Georgia/Ukraine story. APO featuring Trike Theatre.
Don’t Miss The Soldier’s Tale: You’d think this devilishly challenging septet was composed for our times!
Part concert, part theatrical performance, The Soldier’s Tale is your classic devil-went-down-to-Georgia/Ukraine story. Seven APO musicians undertake one of Stravinsky’s most difficult works. Meanwhile, costumed performances from our friends at Trike Theatre set the shocking scene.
Created just in time to be shut down due to the Spanish Flu in 1918, The Soldier’s Tale sounds as jagged and feels as unsettling today as it did then.
The APO is an arts-based organization that brings music to where people are while striving to do the unexpected in extraordinary ways. They partner with local venues and community groups to create diverse experiences for classical music lovers and surprise those who have not quite yet found that love. These contemporary events center music as a vehicle to broaden perspectives and connect people to other forms of art. With each new performance, the APO aims to cultivate young minds and inspire more audiences.
