Barrio Alegría invites you to join us at our third annual benefit event. Join us on October 13, 2021 for the third annual Barrio Lights fundraiser! This year we are raising funds to help Barrio increase our people-power to light up the community through our various programming across the City of Reading. This includes things like cleaning up abandoned lots, making parks come alive, multiplying the sharing of talents, building wealth in the community and the list goes on. To do all this work it takes staff who need to be resourced. During this trying time, Barrio has been even more intentional about allying with community members and building initiatives to bring information and resources across the City of Reading. Last year we reported that our public space programming ceased due to the pandemic. Since then, we've restarted our plein air programming, brought more music to the South of Penn area in the form of neighborhood concerts, gave artists more opportunities than ever, and looked at new ways to support our community like timebanking, an alternative currency system, and microlending for entrepreneurs. You can help us keep our city alive. Come celebrate community building, art, and connection with us, while watching the sunset over the city.
