FOXBOROUGH, MA — Forget blimps or banner planes, people in the Metro West area could see a large plane with two smaller fighter jets circling the sky for a chunk of Saturday afternoon. The reason? The New England Patriots had their opening game day against the Miami Dolphins in Foxboro. According to the global flight tracking service called Flightradar24, the large plane was a Boeing KC-46A Pegasus belonging to the U.S. Air Force. The Pegasus and the two fighter jets, F-22 Raptors, were used for a flyover during the pregame events. A tweet from the New England Patriots shows the planes flying over the field just before Sunday's game. ✈️✈️✈️ pic.twitter.com/Hwr2gUiT54— New England Patriots (@Patriots) September 12, 2021 Another post from the Framingham Police Department's Facebook page showed the planes raised a few eyebrows a little further west as well. According to the flight tracker, the planes appeared to finish later, landing at Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire.
