WEST HAVEN, CT — Several candidates, including incumbent Mayor Nancy R. Rossi, are vying for a spot on the ballot in November in Tuesday's primary election for both Democrats and Republicans in West Haven. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 14. Rossi received the Democratic Town Committee's endorsement in July and is being challenged by John Lewis, who was former Mayor Ed O'Brien's executive assistant. Democrats will also vote on candidates for Treasurer, Tax Collector, Board of Education, City Council – both At-Large and District races – and Board of Assessment Appeals. Republicans will vote for City Council At-Large candidates. Michael Last is the party's endorsed candidate for Treasurer and is being challenged by Marlon Boyd, while Keith Lynn is challenging Dorothy Chambrelli for Tax Collector. In the Democratic primary for Board of Education, voters can vote for up to three candidates. The endorsed candidates are Patrick Egolum, Kim Kenny and Morgan Watt. They are being challenged by James Morrissey, Rosemary Russo and Susan Walker. For City Council At-Large, voters can vote for up to two candidates. The endorsed candidates are Gary Donovan and Ronald M. Quagliani and they are being challenged by Charles Butler and Jeffrey Kershner. The City Council District Democratic candidates are as follows (note: *endorsed candidate): District 1 *Bridgette J. They are being challenged by Janet Rodriguez and Joseph Palmucci. There are three Republican candidates on the ballot for City Council At-Large (vote for up to two). They are Thomas DellaCamera, Paul Frosolone and Colleen O'Connor.
