Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into Home In Dale City: Police

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A man died on Saturday, Sept. 11 in a motorcycle crash in Dale City, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities identified the man as Carlos Erasmo Lopez Castro, a 26-year-old Woodbridge resident. In a news release, the police department said the crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday, near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Hillendale Drive. Authorities said that Lopez Castro was operating a 2001 Honda CBR 600F4i going westbound on Dale Boulevard. He was in the left travel lane when he stopped at a red light, police said. The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into an unoccupied 2011 Mercedes Benz E350 that was parked in the driveway of a home in the 4500 block of Dale Boulevard. The motorcycle didn't stop when it hit the car, as it continued its path and collided with the house, the police department wrote in their report. Nobody in the home was injured, authorities said. Lopez Castro was pronounced dead on the scene by rescue personnel. The police department said they are still investigating the crash. In their initial report, they did not disclose any precise factors like speed that could have caused the operator to lose control of the motorcycle.
