GREENWICH, CT — Two men have been charged after police conducted a drug bust in a parking lot at Greenwich Town Hall on Sept. 1, according to police. Police said Brian Danzi, 46, of Greenwich, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Lukasz Mozaryn, 39, of Port Chester, N.Y., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia, police said. Both men were given Written Promise To Appear notices and court dates in Stamford of Sept. 15. Police said the Narcotics Section was contacted by someone who, over the past several weeks, "had witnessed what they believed were nearly daily hand-to-hand transactions within the Greenwich Town Hall parking lot." On Sept. 1 around 12:45 p.m., police said the GPD Narcotics Section conducted surveillance on the employee parking lot located on the right-hand side of Town Hall, and noticed vehicles matching the descriptions provided by the source. "Investigators observed three subjects meet and were able to observe that one subject was manipulating white wax folds while seated within a vehicle," an arrest report from the GPD stated. "The investigators knew through training and experience that the white folds were consistent with how heroin is packaged for street sales." Investigators stopped one of the vehicles, which was driven by Danzi with Mozaryn in the passenger seat, according to the arrest report. "Both men admitted to just using heroin. Empty, white wax folds and a syringe were located and seized as evidence," the arrest report said. The third person who was seen with Danzi and Mozaryn left before the arrests were made, said Lt. Martin O'Reilly, adding that an investigation into that person remains ongoing. Police said Danzi and Mozaryn were both referred to the Town of Greenwich Human Services Department.
