DARIEN, CT — The annual Darien Road Race, hosting approximately 500 racers, will be held Sunday at 9 a.m. In a news release, police said the race will start at Pear Tree Point Beach. Impacted roads will include: Pear Tree Point RoadLong Neck Point RoadGoodwives River RoadSunswyck RoadTory Hole RoadDelafield Island RoadRed Coat PassOld Kings Highway SouthLocust Hill RoadAndrews Drive Drivers and residents of the area are asked to expect short-term delays and detours along the race route. Officers will be positioned along the route to facilitate the flow of traffic and the safety of the runners, police said.
