Description
Join us for an acoustic Irish Session this Friday 9/17 from 5:00 - 8:00. Musicians of all levels are invited to come and join the fun. This isn't a performance, it's just a group of friends making music and learning some new tunes together. We will be at a restaurant patio in Old Town (call, txt or email for location details and a list of the tunes/songs we like to play).
The session will feature mostly Irish traditional tunes (jigs, reels, slides and hornpipes), but we also love other folk music traditions including Old Time Americana, bluegrass, Quebecois, Cajun, Breton, Contra dance, etc. We love learning about other folk traditions and learning new tunes. As the saying goes, "If I have give you a dollar, and you give me a dollar, we both have one dollar. If I give you a tune and you give me a tune, we both have two tunes."
This is an unplugged jam session featuring traditional folk instruments. Bring your fiddle, mandolin, guitar, squeezebox, banjo, bodhran, tin whistle, bouzouki, dulcimer, etc. Slow session and warm-ups start at 5:00 and we kick off the regular session at 6:00. Bring your instrument and a friend or three and come enjoy the craic. Please be vaccinated or ok with remaining masked.
