For Fabrication: COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have the ability to read and work from shop drawings and diagrams created manually or from a CAD program. Ability to measure, add, subtract, and make basic calculations etc. Ability to follow directions and communicate efficiently and effectively with other workers in the shop, increasing productivity and output in the shop Must be able to adapt and adjust to varying production timelines typical in new home and commercial construction Must have the ability to recognize fabricating issues and seek help from the Shop Manager to resolve and prevent repetitive mistakes Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. Experience with and safe use of tools utilized in stone fabrication Skilled craftsman with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple duties at once Ability to use portable power tools and hand tools to cut, grind, shape, and polish various types of stone products. Have knowledge and understanding of the use of different products and solvents such as various types of adhesive glues, acetone, and denatured alcohol used for fabrication. Basic knowledge of the stones commercially sold in the industry and an understanding of the varying characteristics of natural stone and engineered products. Adaptability to circumstance DIRECT REPORTS None REPORTS TO: Shop Foreman Solid Surface Manager EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 2-3 years of fabrication experience preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to understand and effectively communicate in English CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the responsibilities of the fabricator position, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel, and able to lift 75 pounds unassisted. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms, hands, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch. WORK ENVIRONMENT Job duties will be performed in shop setting.
