Suspected Meth Lab Discovered In Squirrel Hill

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh police discovered a suspected methamphetamine lab while investigating a burglary in progress early Sunday in Squirrel Hill. Officers responded to a home in the 6300 block of Darlington Road at about 1:15 a.m. and escorted residents out of the building before conducting a search for the burglary suspect. They discovered what they believed to be a clandestine meth lab in one of the upstairs suites. The HazMat team was called to the scene to conduct testing. An unidentified male occupant of the apartment was arrested and faces multiple charges. Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a second man. The Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team was called in to remove the lab's chemicals and other evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
