Sylmar: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for the murder of 36-year-old Virgina Cantero.
On September 7, 2021, around 11:20 p.m., Mission Area officers responded to a possible homicide call near the 14500 block of Lyle Street. Upon arrival, the officers located a female victim down inside of a residence. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased. The initial investigation revealed the female was a victim of a violent homicide.
Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives are working in conjunction with the LA County Coroner's Office to investigate and determine the cause of death. Detectives are investigating and believe there were witnesses to the incident and are seeking information.
