ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a cat attack, inappropriate touching in an Uber, purse thefts, domestic disturbances, harassment in a store and people falling down. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Cat attack A person was attacked by a domestic cat about 11 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Indiana Street. He received two stitches in his ear. The cat is not up-to-date with vaccinations. An officer sent a copy of the report to DuPage County Animal Control. Uber incident An Uber driver told police that a man touched her inappropriately, called her names and struck her car with his fists about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of North Virginia Lane. An investigation is pending. The man was described as 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-4, having a beard, and wearing a dark baseball cap and black-rimmed glasses. Purse thefts A woman was shopping about 2 p.m. Thursday at Whole Foods Market, 215 S. Route 83, when her purse was stolen from her shopping cartA purse was stolen from an unlocked car about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of West Second Street. The owner said someone had tried to fraudulently use her credit card at Walgreens in Hinsdale. An officer reviewed security footage from Walgreens and saw two men try to buy items using multiple credit cards. The first suspect was described as black, having a thin build and long hair, and wearing a black shirt, dark pants and a dark hat. The second one was described as black, having a medium build and short hair, and wearing a black and red track suit and dark hat. Domestic disturbances A domestic disturbance happened about 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of North Michigan Street. A man told police that a woman threw canned goods at him, striking his legs. The woman said she threw cans at him because he pushed her to the ground. No arrests were made due to conflicting statements and no visible injuries.A person pushed a woman, punched her in the face and took her keys and cellpone about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Power Market convenience store, 572 W. Lake St. An officer saw a scratch on the woman's heel and redness and swelling on the right side of her face. A warrant has been obtained for domestic battery. More charges are pending. Fugitives Officers saw three vehicles that were reported to have been involved in commercial burglaries in other towns. This happened about 2 a.m. Friday at Doti Liquors, 104 E. Fullerton Ave. When officers tried to stop the suspect vehicles, they sped away, last seen heading east on Grand Avenue. Officers heard an audible alarm at Doti Liquors. A glass door to the main entrance was damaged, but no entry was gained. Security video showed the three vehicles reverse into the parking lot and four suspects get out of two of them. One suspect struck the glass door with an object, then left. Perceived threat A woman told police Friday that her boyfriend's wife emailed her saying, "See you soon." The woman's boyfriend said he saw his wife place a bat in her car, but she would not say where she was going. She often carries a .357 pistol in her purse. Police contacted the wife, who said she was heading to Indianapolis to visit friends. The wife was asked not to have any contact with the girlfriend. Harassment at store A person was harassing customers about 1 p.m. Friday at Ace Hardware, 1028 S. York St. The person was given a no-trespass notice. Attempted bike theft Two teens were riding Divvy and Mongoose bicycles about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Indiana Street. They entered a garage and stole a bicycle. The owner chased the teens and was able to get his bike back. The suspects ran away. A blue Divvy and a blue Mongoose were found abandoned in the area. The first suspect was described as black, having a darker complexion, and wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a black tank top. The second one was described as black, lighter skinned and wearing a black tank top. Catalytic converters stolen Catalytic converters were stolen from two trucks overnight Wednesday in the 500 block of West Wrightwood Avenue, an industrial park. Another converter was stolen between 7 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday in the 200 block of East North Avenues. The metals in converters have become a lot more valuable. Wallet issue A man told police Friday that he left his wallet unattended in a room after attending a fitness class at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St. After leaving the gym, he realized he did not have his wallet and could not find it. A short time later, he found his wallet in the parking lot. The driver's license was removed. BB hole found A small BB hole was found in a window in a house in the 700 block of Michigan Street. The damage was reported Saturday and was believed to have happened in the last four days. Falls A man appeared to have lost consciousness, fell and struck his head about 9:30 a.m. Sunday outside of Whole Foods Market, 215 S. Route 83. He was taken to the hospital.A man lost his balance after he hit his foot on a raised curb about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Gem Car Wash, 964 N. York St. He then fell backward and hit his head on the pavement. He was taken to the hospital.
