CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — The non-profit organization, Families Against Narcotics will host a fundraiser event at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township on Oct. 5. The organization said all proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward its free programs and services that help individuals and families affected by substance use disorder. "Fundraisers are so important to Families Against Narcotics," the non-profit's Executive Director Linda Davis said. "Especially now, because our donations have taken a big hit since the pandemic started. Unfortunately, drug overdose deaths are at record-setting levels, so we need money more than ever." The event, called "Fall Fest" will return to an in-person format, after the non-profit held it virtually in 2020. It will start at 5:30 p.m. and include dinner, entertainment, a silent auction and raffles. Families Against Narcotics will also discuss its latest initiatives and present speakers who will share their stories in how the non-profit helped them. "Last year's virtual event was a success, but it wasn't anything like the Fall Fest we've grown accustomed to," Davis said. "There's just something special about seeing a thousand people in person, enjoying a lovely meal together and helping raise money that will allow us to keep saving lives." In addition to purchasing tickets and sponsorships, individuals and businesses are also encouraged to donate items or services for the Fall Fest silent auction by email or calling 586-438-8500. Tickets are $125 and sponsorships vary in price. Families Against Narcotics has helped thousands of people whose lives have been impacted by addiction since 2007, and has since expanded to more than 20 chapters statewide.
