AUBURN, MA — Route 12 was shut down in Auburn Sunday evening following a collision between a tanker hauling liquid nitrogen and a minivan, according to public safety officials. The collision was reported near 3 p.m. Sunday near Water Street, which is close to on and off-ramps to I-290 and the Mass Pike. One person was taken to a local hospital following the crash. Neither the tanker nor the van were able to be driven from the scene, according to Auburn Chief Andrew Sluckis. Route 12 at Johnson Street. Tractor trailer and mini van. One transported to hospital.
