Description

Jasper is a mixed breed that we adopted from the shelter as a puppy. He is now 4.5 years old and we are looking for a home that provides him with more opportunities for exercise and company. He is walked every morning but is currently alone most of the day as the kids and I are no longer home as often. We don't know his exact breed but have guessed that he is part Catahoula Leopard dog. He displays many of the traits of that breed and you should research that breed to get an idea of his temperament. An ideal home would be a quiet setting with a lot of space where he is the only pet. He has not been around small children. He has been well taken care of with annual vet visits and is current on vaccinations. He knows basic commands such as sit, stay, easy and is well behaved in the house. He sleeps in his crate at night but does not need to. He has not been socialized much with other dogs and would be better in a one-dog home. When he is happy/excited he does 360's. He loves walking in the woods off-leash and playing in the water but those open spaces have been vanishing, so we don't do it as much any longer. He is a happy dog and we are not looking to place him with just anyone. We are looking to place him in a situation that is better than what he currently has and interested adopters will be screened. With that in mind, a veterinary reference would be helpful as well as details about your home life and how he will be cared for as well as an understanding of his breed.
