We are looking for a professional band manager and leader who can also assist driving a van and trailer for our gigging wedding band. Being a band manager means you will be the band’s day-of-event contact for wedding clients and event clients our band performs for. We are a full-time traveling party band operating throughout the southeastern US, performing at weddings, corporate events, and national venues. We drive A LOT. This band is very versatile and we’re looking for someone who can roll with the punches while keeping a great attitude. Being on the road for gigs is challenging, from sharing van space with fellow bandmates to performing multiple shows in the course of a single weekend. We are not just a band or a business; we are a family who wants to win and we rely on each other every week. This band has had consistent work and amazing reviews ever since its inception, and the coming years are going to be a very exciting time. If chosen, you will have a trial period to make sure everything goes well, and then your regular role will begin at the start of 2022. This organization is also signed to a professional booking agency that believes in us and is dedicated to helping us achieve success. Keep in mind that this organization has a sister traveling/gigging party band that you could also potentially work with as a fill-in for extra work. Band Manager Requirements (Including Tasks and Qualities We’re Looking For): - An ability to help load heavy gear in and out of venues. - Good organizational skills. - Have a relatively open schedule and be able to speak and text consistently on a 24 hour basis. - Keep up to date with which band members will be missing which gigs, as well as which members may be switching shifts. Notate this on calendars, itineraries and admin Groupme group. Constantly update band owners of these changes. - Attend all Zoom Calls and Google meet calls with the band owner when he has meetings with clients to take notes for each event and include those notes in the bands itineraries, calendar, etc. - Send reminder notices for song requests and set changes to band members via mass emails and groupme messages. - Excellent time management skills and an ability to be a firm team lead. - Positive attitude and an ability to be mentally present and attentive on gigs. Negativity and hate in any form is not tolerated. - An ability to go on long road trips for gigs and work long, challenging days. We will drive anywhere from 2-8 hours for out of town gigs, usually leaving early Saturday mornings and returning early to mid Sunday mornings. The actual shows are anywhere from 1-3+ hours long. Stamina and endurance are a must. - A team player who wants to see themselves and the other band members succeed. - Overall personality that matches our present team. - Great people skills in regards to client/customer interactions and communications. - Great attention to detail. This is paramount. The successful or unsuccessful realization of a client’s details can absolutely make the difference between a good gig and a bad gig. - Great communication skills (we need to be able to reliably reach you by phone/text/groupme). - Punctuality (ability to adhere to specific and precise schedules and timelines). - Responsibility and professionalism. - Ability to troubleshoot and creatively problem solve. Circumstances change even at the most meticulously planned events, so an ability to “go with the flow” is necessary. Day-Of-Event Contact Requirements (Including Tasks and Qualities We’re Looking For): - Overall outgoing and friendly attitude towards client at all times. Customer service is a MUST. - Overly attentive to every detail of every gig and double checking planner's timeline to make sure everything is in place regarding the band. - Working with event planner to locate the band's changing/break room after the band's arrival to the event venue. - Always establish a text communication chain between the planner and the planner's assistant for the day of. A lot of times the planners are on the other sides of the room so this is always good to have. - Always be the first to be in formal or performance attire so you can be around if the planners need you. - Always be present and attentive during sound checks and even after sound checks because things change during the night. Always be present during dinner sets, first dances, and announcements. - Help make sure the band is in place and ready to perform any tasks according to the planner's schedule. - Actively check on the planner throughout the night (also keep an eye on the bride and groom to make sure they're having a good time). Van Driver Requirements (Including Tasks and Qualities We’re Looking For): - Our max travel time is about 9 hours, although it’s usually less. Van drivers take driving shifts anywhere from 1-4 hours long, and can rest/sleep in the van like the other band members when not driving. Must be able to back up a trailer into tight spots, or must be willing to learn. Pay: You will be compensated well for your role in this organization. We are offering full-time payment to the right person. Payment is per gig and will be discussed in person at the conclusion of an interview. In Closing: We are looking for a skilled and responsible music professional to join an established and reputable party band organization. We’re not here to punch the clock; we work hard on our music careers every single week and we want someone who aligns with that lifestyle and work ethic. If you want to be a part of a great organization, send and email with the subject "Let's get down", full name, pictures and resume to info (at) afterpartyexperience.com
