Trump and the Emoluments Clause

Description

Trump violated the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. The Foreign Emoluments Clause is a provision in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the United States Constitution,[1] that prohibits the federal government from granting titles of nobility, and restricts members of the federal government from receiving gifts, emoluments, offices or titles from foreign states and monarchies without the consent of the United States Congress. Every time a foreign dignitary stayed at one of Trump’s hotels, or patronized one of his lousy businesses, Trump received an emolument. Congress never gave Trump consent for this. Historically, Presidents have had their stock holdings put into blind trusts so that they could not be accused of self-dealing. But Trump thumbed his nose at the Constitution, repeatedly. Let’s not forget his inciting an insurrection on January 6th, 2021, the ULTIMATE “middle finger” he stuck to America. Trump is an anarchist and disloyal to the Constitution. He always placed his own interests above those of America. There’s a special express elevator waiting for him to take him directly to hell, the same elevator that took Rush Limbaugh and will take McConnell, Graham, Cruz and Hawley.
