Description

“Store the jin like drawing a bow. Mobilize the jin like pulling silk from a cocoon. Release the jin like releasing the arrow.” Continued. On Sept 26th at 1PM we will be conducting Part 2 of the silk reeling workshops. Part 1 introduced the two circles (ni chan and shun chan ), body connections, and coiling. Part 2 will advance those concepts by introducing combinations of the circles and executing them on different planes (front, side, and vertically). We will also examine the Yang form and identify where these combinations occur. We will briefly review material covered in Part 1 so students who missed the first workshop will still benefit from this Part 2 workshop. The Silk Reeling workshop is taught by Shifu Bob Shannon, head instructor of Chen style tai chi at Aiping Tai Chi Center. Shifu Bob Shannon has won numerous gold medals for Chen style tai chi in national and regional competitions. This workshop is designed for ALL Levels. Beginning students can jump start their tai chi study by gaining familiarity of important fundamental concepts. Advanced students can improve their tai chi by deepening their understanding of tai chi principles.
