FLAVOR FUSION FEST 2021 THE MAIN EVENT Our largest initiative is our annual festival which offers the perfect combination of place, people and food that result in an identity unlike any other in the world. OVERVIEW Flavor Fusion Fest is a organization that champions, promotes, supports and celebrates the art of culinary experiences that bring people together. OUR NETWORK Consists of world renown executive chefs, food lovers and cooking enthusiasts who are unified by a common and contagious passion for unique culinary experiences. ALL STAR TEAM The team led by María Marte, two Michelin stars and celebrity chef; Amilkar Gonell, general manager, executive chef and culinary consultant for Gonell Enterprise; and Pamela Gonell, executive chef and consultant. CHEF MARIA MARTE Is one of Dominican Republic’s most awarded chefs and the only female chef with two Michelin stars. María Marte was born in the town of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, in 1978. Her interest in cooking began during childhood, where instead of playing with a toy kitchen, she cooked real dishes for her friends. After training in a local bakery and being influenced by her mother, she decided to move to Spain in 2003. See more... CHEF PAMELA GONELL Executive Chef Consultant brings over 15 years of culinary experience to Flavor Fusion Fest. She was born in Dominican Republic and quickly developed a passion for the art of culinary. See more... CHEF AMILKAR GONELL Executive Chef Amilkar Gonell is an award-winning Chef with a 20- year career in food preparation, menu development and kitchen operations management. Chef Gonell is considered by many to be a culinary innovator known for producing top quality creative dishes. His first memories of food revolve around helping his parents prepare food homemade recipes in his native Dominican Republic where he was considered to be a teen Chef prodigy receiving praises for this unique seasoning and cooking techniques. See more... ORIGIN OF MANGÚThe mangú has its origin in the Congo region, where its inhabitants crushed boiled bananas, which came to the island during the slave trade processes. The original word "mangusi" referred to almost any root vegetable that has been boiled and pureed.
