Chiku Awali Teaches Classes in Bucket Drumming and African Dance Join Chiku Awali in the Spring Valley Memorial Park at 5:00p.m. on Saturdays for Bucket Drumming and on Sundays for African Dance Classes. Mr. Yahaya Kamate will teach the classes on both days weather permitting. Chiku Awali's mission is to promote, encourage and project civic and cultural programs and activities within the community that are representative of African culture.  Our vision is to provide the community with alternatives for a healthy lifestyle and to offer activities that will educate and enrich our youth. To that end, we offer children, ages five and older, a monthly Saturday activity club at the Louis Kurtz Civic Center, 9 N Main Street, Spring Valley, NY. We are well known for our African dancing and drumming programs in the community for children to adults.
