A giant pot of Gumbo brings folks together, along with a variety of food trucks to make purchases. Food, Fun, and Music.
Over 30 years ago, I decided to host an ole school house party in November to kick off the holiday season while living in Japan, Virginia, and Texas. Over the years, the party was named Gumbofest because that was the featured dish. What was a private party at our home consisting of over 400 people turned into a public event and at times as a fundraiser to take students on educational trips to Washington D.C.
Today, Gumbofest is a time for friends old and new to enjoy music and good food and see one another after being on a lockdown due to Covid. The theme is Louisiana Cuisine but additional food trucks will offer a nice variety of food for purchase. A gourmet baked potato truck, a gourmet hot dog truck, a Philipino truck, a Puerto Rican food truck, and Jewell's Cajun and Southern Cuisine food truck. Ernie's Patio Bar, the co-host will provide all the alcoholic beverages. Please bring your favorite lawn chair to enjoy the festivities. DJ Big Cat of OMGSounds will turn up the music. A special performance by a Michael Jackson impersonator will also be a huge hit with everyone young and old:).
Out of town guests stay tuned for hotel information. While in town enjoy the Outlet Mall in San Marcos, TX, downtown San Antonio and the Alamo or Natural Bridge Caverns all in very close proximity to Cibolo where the event is being held.
Any questions please text Vida Floyd at 210 365 8213. See you Saturday, November 13!
