I've noticed an interesting thing that happens when attempting to communicate with leftists. If you disagree with them, you're called "crazy", "a hater", or "a conspiracy theorist". And if you make an assertion that they disagree with, they ignore you, block you, or censor you. The epitome of liberalism is open-mindedness. The ability to discuss, compare views, and agree to disagree if that's what it comes to. But leftists seem to be the opposite of open-minded. They aim to smear anyone who disagrees with them, and if the points being made hit too close to the truth -- their "pet issues", for which they believe there is ONLY ONE right answer -- they silence you. I believe the reason for this is that leftists' views are derived solely from emotion, and they know they're in the wrong. (Or, they've heard the same lies repeated so many times, they've come to accept them as the truth.) They're unable to articulate logical responses to challenges, because there is no logical response to being wrong, short of reevaluating one's viewpoint. But since they're unable or unwilling to do this, to be introspective, to challenge their own mistaken beliefs, they're overcome with self-doubt, which causes them to retreat fearfully into smearing, ignoring, or censoring those who disagree with them. Just so you know, this is 100% NOT an effective way to convince someone who disagrees with you that you're right. When someone has a thoughtful opinion, based on empirical evidence, calling them names and/or silencing them has exactly the opposite effect. They start to wonder...if the person who is wrong refuses to discuss the topic logically, they must not have any actual evidence to present. They've been presented with opposing evidence, and their response is essentially to stick their head in the sand. Consider this: If you've heard the same lies, repeated over and over again, so many times that you've started to believe them, to accept them as the truth...isn't it remotely possible that you might actually be lying to YOURSELF now? That maybe you have convinced yourself that the only reliable source of truth exists inside of your own head? That your ability to reasonably gather and assess facts has been corrupted, essentially by a self-righteous, self-propagating lie machine? Hey, I could be wrong. I'm considering it. Are you even capable of considering that YOU might be the one who's wrong? And if I have hurt your feelings or offended you, please do flag the post. My money is on this post not surviving for one hour. I want to be wrong, I want to believe that leftists are reasonable, but I can't. Your favor in flagging this post will help prove me right.
