Description
I just adopted this beautiful dog. He's not going to workout for us though because he needs to be an only dog I believe. He is dominant over other dogs, and possessive of bones with them. Not food aggressive. I was told He was picked on by another dog repeatedly until he stood up for himself. I have 2 XL dogs his size that are very calm and non dominant towards him, but he went after them anyway with a whine and lip curling, then a short lunge when he saw me removing bones from our yard, and also for something more minor, but he felt like he needed to react. No dogs were injured. This is a stressful environment for him with the dogs here though. He would be an excellent flock guardian dog, though he hasn't had training for that. His instincts are good. He is 2 years old and neutered. His shots I was told are up to date. I should get those sent to me shortly. He was around kid's. Aloof like this breed is. Fine with people. I have a great amount of respect for these 2 breeds, and I know they need proper socialization. I'm not sure he got that with other dogs in this case. I'd like someone knowledgeable about this breed to take him, and that would use him for the right intentions.
