PITTSBURGH, PA — To leave or not to leave? That was the question confronting Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent Anthony Hamlet. Ultimately, he decided to leave. Hamlet announced his resignation Wednesday, a week after being cited for various ethics violations by a government agency that knows a bit about such things - the Pennsylvania Ethics Commission. Despite claiming the findings vindicated him in the 147 page report - that's right, a 147-page report, Hamlet decided to cut bait with the district he has been in charge of since 2016. His departure is effective Oct. 1. Weep not for Hamlet, however. He'll pocket nearly $400,000 for leaving under the terms of his contract. Some guys have all the luck, if not all the ethics.
