Description
**If interested, please email a cover letter and your resume** An Asheville family (in a beautiful neighborhood just a 5 min walk to Beaver Lake) is looking for a Full-Time Nanny/House Manager for their three children, twins who are 3.5 years old, and a 7 month old. The Nanny/House Manager would typically be needed three days a week 7:30am to 5:30pm, 30 hours a week, days are flexible Monday - Saturday. There will also be an option, if desired by both parties for occasional evenings/weekends. Travel opportunities may be available after the pandemic is over. This family is looking for someone who is reliable, dependable, and who has experience with multiple younger children. Nanny/House Manager should be able to work independently, as well as be coachable. This multifaceted Nanny/House Manager position will sometimes look like managing all three children, having just the twins, or caring solely for the baby. The family is looking for a highly qualified Nanny/House Manager who has experience nannying infants and toddlers. Their baby boy will be 7 months old at the time of hire. Their 3.5 year old girl/boy twins are both SUPER happy kids, day time potty trained, and starting preschool in the fall. The family is looking for a Nanny/House Manager who is calm, grounded, and powerfully present with toddlers & newborns. This position is not limited exclusively to childcare as it also involves light housekeeping and House Manager tasks. The twins are in school from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and then they nap once they get home until about 4:30 pm (Mon-Fri). During that time the main focus will be caring for the baby and doing additional tasks. It is extremely important to the family that the Nanny/House Manager thrives in this position, feels appreciated, well cared for, and free to express themselves. The Nanny/House Manager should have a positive outlook, flow, and personality. The family believes that healthy communication is essential and as such are life-long students of Nonviolent Communication. The family works well with people who are calm, grounded, present, and have a high level of both emotional intelligence and empathy. The parents have more of a “Type A” than “B” personality and appreciate working with those who can work independently, but who are also coachable, efficient, and detail-oriented. The parents work from home, but maintain offices on a separate floor (with separate entrances) from the main living space, and balance their schedules in a way that does not interrupt the routine of the children and Nanny/House Manager. The family thrives on scheduled routine, healthy whole food nutrition, time in nature, non-electronic toys and self-directed play. The best Nanny/House Manager should have similar values of health, education, and presence with the kids. The parents are big believers in the R.I.E. approach (Resources for Infant “Educarers”) and the “Baby Sleep Solution” program, and have been greatly influenced by the work of Janet Landsbury, Circle of Security, and the Love and Logic Parenting Approach. The twins learned baby sign language at a young age and maintain a Montessori inspired play space. When at home, the children love playing outside (they have a playground, creek, quiet street to play with scooters or on mulch pile, sandbox, etc), reading books, doing arts and crafts, making music with instruments, dancing/listening to music, and playing with toys inside (extremely limited screen time).
