Tritone Music Academy offers quality after-school guitar and ukulele lessons. We are currently seeking part-time teaching assistants to support Team Leaders in our 1st-3rd grade ukulele program on Thursdays in Irvine,CA. There are opportunities for more hours including flexible online lessons. Applicants must have afternoon availability as our program teaches kids after school. We are looking for applicants with flexible schedules that would allow them to work 1-5 days a week, 1 1/2 - 2 hours per day in the afternoons between 2-5pm. Teaching Assistants are tasked with running simple ukulele lessons and music related activities with students while Team Leaders teach formal music lessons to smaller sub-groups. Experience with kids aged 6-9 is necessary, an aspiration to work with kids especially this age group is highly preferred. Experience with music is preferred but not required (if you have some music experience in another instrument, this is a good way for you to get paid while learning the ukulele). Proximity to Irvine and Fullerton is necessary. Preferred applicants for the position could be college students interested in a career in education, or someone with $20-$26 per hour *Assistants will receive an extra fifteen minutes of pay for every day worked as “prep time”. Necessary skills: Enjoy working with and have good communication skills with children ages 6-9 Be punctual and have a reliable means of transportation (proximity to Irvine especially favored) Have an excellent work ethic and great organizational skills Aptitude with building and executing activities with kids Ability and confidence to sing in front of children A desire to learn the ukulele and grow into a ukulele teacher Be able to pass a background check Please note: If hired for the position, Applicants will be required to pay for a background check.
