Ballentine's Boat Shop on Cape Cod, MA is seeking a 3/4- full time employee to help in the paint and varnish department. Qualified individuals would be able to commit to a regular schedule from 7:30 to 4+ daily, but some flexibility is available. Candidates need to handle physical exertion and sanding tedium while striving for efficiency in completing tasks while achieving a high level of finish. Work would range from grinding boat bottoms to setting up staging, from sanding and varnishing brightwork to removing and replacing hardware, from detailing boat interiors to cleaning and organizing the work bay. Individuals must be willing to pitch in to help others complete their tasks and keep the general work area clean and organized. The best candidates are motivated and able to see what needs to be done, and execute. We appreciate working with people who are dependable, trainable, and willing to be flexible and adaptable. We value attention to detail and the ability to work both in a team and independently. Boat and sailing experience is appreciated, but not required. Ballentine’s Boat Shop is a small family run boat yard that has the privilege to work on some of the most beautiful classic boats. We have been fortunate to have a team of long term employees and we hope to welcome someone who is willing to work hard and learn from our experienced crew. Compensation starts at $20/hr adjusted for experience and with the potential for growth and benefits.
