Learn to troubleshoot problems with a 3D printer and provide the proper maintenance to keep a 3D printer running strong. In this class students will learn the skills to trouble shoot and fix common problems on their 3D printer. This class will be taught using an Ender 3 3D printer, but the skills can be applied to most FDM/FFF 3D printers. Throughout this two-hour class students will learn the following maintenance skills and troubleshooting techniques: • Identify problems in 3D prints such as over extrusion, under extrusion, adhesion issues and poor surface quality. • Tweak slicing settings and evaluate results. • Level the build plate. • Clean or replace a clogged nozzle. • Tighten belts. • Clean Extruder • Improve build plate adhesion With these skills, students will be able to keep their own 3D printers running and dive deeper into advanced 3D printing techniques. Class Length: 2 hours Prerequisites: intro to 3D printing or equivalant experience with 3D printing Min/max registrations: 2-6 If you'd like a 50% scholarship discount (no questions asked) email [email protected] Instructor Bio: Ben Holmgren is a Plastics and Composites Engineering graduate of Western Washington University. He has been working with the Bellingham Makerspace for 6 years teaching 3D printing, 3D design, and a class to build your own 3D Printer. Maximum class size has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Class fees: All class fees include materials. If you are a current Bellingham Makerspace member or scheduled volunteer you may select the discounted member registration. Some instructors offer scholarship discounts and volunteers may be eligible for training discounts. Cancellations: All classes have a minimum number of participants. If the instructor specified number is not reached 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, the class will be cancelled and any registrations refunded (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). Refund policy: You may request a refund from Eventbrite no later than 24hrs before the class starts (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). After that point instructors and participants are committed and we won't be able to provide any refunds.
