Description
Assemble, upgrade, learn to use, and take home an Ender 3 3D printer. In this class, students will assemble and upgrade their own Creality Ender 3 3D printer. This 3D printer kit is one of the most popular among the maker community. Because of this, it offers an excellent starting place to learn about 3D printing and how to upgrade an entry level 3D printer kit to a very high-quality machine. The open source nature of this 3D printer, coupled with its popularity, means that there are many aftermarket and DIY upgrades available. In this class, we will build a basic Ender 3 Kit with the following upgrades: • Upgraded leveling springs for more accurate and reliable leveling. • Upgraded dual gear extruder for more reliable printing. • Capricorn Bowden tubing for more precise print quality. • 3D printed casing upgrades. This class will be consisting of two, two hour classes and open office hours the following weekend. In the two classes, you will build, upgrade and learn to use your 3D printer. After you have had some time to play around with your 3D printer at home, there will be open office hours the following weekend to answer any questions or fix problems that came up in your first week of using your 3D printer. Class Schedule: Formal Instruction: Saturday 10 am - 12 pm; Initial 3D printer build. Sunday 10 am - 12 pm; 3D printer upgrades and learning to run your 3D printer.
