Description

The force is strong. Join us for two guest speakers and a synopsis of our continued work around the world. The force is strong with this conservation organization. Join us on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:30pm at Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse in the Denver RiNo (River North) of Denver for an intimate get together - outdoors! As a part of our KACF Conservation Speaker Series, we'll have two guest speakers and a synopsis of our continued work around the world by Executive Director, Dave Johnson. Dedan Ngatia, PhD Student in the department of Zoology and Physiology at the University of Wyoming, discusses his research with endangered wild dogs and Grevy's zebras in Kenya, and provides us with an update on the last two northern white rhinos in existence. Denver Zookeeper, Travis Garrett, will speak on his work with endangered penguins and the SANCCOB organization in South Africa. Dave Johnson, KACF founder and Executive Director, will provide an overview of what the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund has been up to around the world during the past year and a half of the Covid pandemic. It's a lot. The Katie Adamson Conservation Fund is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization of people who help endangered animals by helping people. It is our conservation imperative.  It was established in 2014 by Zookeeper, Dave Johnson, to promote endangered animal conservation initiatives worldwide. The mission of KACF is to help empower the people of our planet to work together to save our remaining ecosystems and all of the creatures they contain. The conservation fund is dedicated to the memory of, and named in honor of Katie Adamson.  She will always be remembered for her courage, her sense of humor, and above all her love of all living things. Her spirit will live on in everything we do. Katie passed away of Ewings Sarcoma in 2014.
