Walking Tour National Mall & Memorials Join our Certified Tour Guide to explore Washington’s most iconic landmarks on a walking tour of the National Mall. Experience the Washington Monument, Vietnam Wall, and Lincoln Memorial while learning about the artistic details and history that helped shape our National Monuments. Hear stories of the history, heroes, and hopes of the United States as we stroll through the heart of our Nations’s Capital. Sights and stops include: Washington Monument The White House National WWII Memorial Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Korean War Veterans Memorial Lincoln Memorial White House Lafayette Square Park Freedom Plaza Willard Hotel This tour meets outside at the Statue of Albert Einstein next to the National Academy of Sciences. The tour takes about 3 hours and covers approximately 2 miles, ending inside the Willard Hotel Bar and Restaurant. Covid-19 Response – All tour guides have been vaccinated. We are in compliance with Federal and State requirements for all attendees and guides. This may mean that attendees will have to wear a mask during their time on the tour. Meet Your Tour Guide | Stephen Mead Stephen has led a life and career rooted in understanding, sharing, and teaching others about the arts. He spent many years in London as a lead tour guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He was also a speaker for the National Arts Collection Fund and an educator at a myriad of educational institutions throughout Britain. Since moving to the Washington D.C. area six years ago, Stephen has spent countless hours leading locals and visitors alike through our many monuments and the capital’s museums. Above all else, Stephen is a master storyteller who weaves together the threads of history and art to engage and delight his audiences.
