Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist and is a former member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist who endeavors to share his love and knowledge of old-time American music. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he has delved into his Southern roots and followed the thread of African American history that weaves itself through country blues, ragtime, fiddle and banjo, and traditional jazz. Hubby earned his higher musical education as a busker on the sidewalks and subway platforms of New York City, performing material by those venerable artists whose work he was studying and quickly absorbing. An ambitiously itinerant musician, he took his show on the road, playing the streets, coffee shops, bars, and house parties in cities around the country. Hubby was a member of the Grammy-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops during 2010-2014. Since 2015, he has been a touring and recording member of the Rhiannon Giddens band. He was on her album “Tomorrow Is My Turn” in 2015 and “Freedom Highway” in 2017. During COVID, he released the EP "The Fourth Day" and made several appearances on Jorma Kaukoken's Fur Peace Ranch weekly broadcast. Tickets for this show are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Doors open at 7PM. Refreshments are available at the show, including beer and wine. The Friends of Crawford Park is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that preserves and beautifies Crawford Park, a 36-acre green space in Rye Brook, NY.
