Join us for our 3rd annual Friend of McKinney Falls 5K! We're excited to be back in the park this year for this fun event. Friends of McKinney Falls 5KJoin us for our 3rd annual Friends of McKinney Falls 5K and support McKinney Falls! The Friends of McKinney Falls 5K will raise funds to support the Onion Creek Trail Re-Route project at McKinney Falls. Due to recent housing developments along the southern border, the park is re-routing this section of the Onion Creek Hike and Bike Trail to make it fully engrained in nature. Join us in helping to support one of the last wild places in Austin and to help us tell the story of a place that’s been visited by people for over 8,000 years! Registration InformationRegistration includes park entry, after-race celebration, and a chance to win prizes! The RouteThe race will start and end at the Smith Visitor Center, near Upper Falls. Participants will run or walk on the Onion Creek Hike and Bike Trail, a paved trail that goes past Upper Falls, the picnic area, the campground, and eventually back to the Smith Visitor Center. As this event is a fundraiser for the park, refunds will not be offered in case of inclement weather.
