Chelmsford veteran Fred Galus Jr.’s Vietnam War journal led to a novel honoring his experience. What might yours do for you?
Join us for a free writing workshop hosted by author Chris Boucher.
Boucher's most recent novel was inspired by his father-in-law, the deceased and sadly-missed Fred Galus Jr. of Chelmsford. A decorated Vietnam veteran, Galus kept a journal of his time "in country."
Front Pivot features excerpts from a fictional diary by a veteran of our involvement in Afghanistan. In the story, two teens struggle to make sense of their dead father's role in another complicated war.
The workshop will be of interest to veterans looking for a means of processing their own experience as well as the children of veterans. Boucher will discuss how he researched and wrote the novel and provide guidance to those interested in recording or interpreting similar experiences.
