Family Book Parties w/ Black Men Read bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade). FREE and open to all!
Families! Join us on Friday, October 8 from 7-8 pm for our second Family Book Party in partnership with Black Men Read, where we bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade). This event is free and open to the public.
Wait..what’s a Book Party?
Book Parties are “Storytime” for kids, but better. Imagine a “Reading Rainbow”-like experience where every child feels seen, loved, and valued as we celebrate Black men as storytellers and community leaders.
Black Men Read Book Parties have been a staple of Washtenaw County since 2016. And if you’ve been, you know what a magical experience they can be for young readers and families. Visit bmrkids.org for more information on this incredible local non-profit.
Health and safety protocols…
Masks are required of all Booksweet customers during Family Book Parties, regardless of vaccination status. We will plan to be outside the shop in the courtyard in October. Learn more about health and safety at Booksweet.
