Family Book Parties w/ Black Men Read bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade). FREE and open to all! Families! Join us on Friday, October 8 from 7-8 pm for our second Family Book Party in partnership with Black Men Read, where we bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade). This event is free and open to the public. Wait..what’s a Book Party? Book Parties are “Storytime” for kids, but better. Imagine a “Reading Rainbow”-like experience where every child feels seen, loved, and valued as we celebrate Black men as storytellers and community leaders. Black Men Read Book Parties have been a staple of Washtenaw County since 2016. And if you’ve been, you know what a magical experience they can be for young readers and families.
