HAUPPAUGE, NY — A memorial service to remember the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks 20 years ago is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday. The event, being hosted by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, will be at the Suffolk County 9/11 Memorial in the Armed Forces Plaza; the north side of the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge. This year's dedication will include a Survival Tree and a special 9/11 compilation video to mark the 20th anniversary. A commemorative bell will also be rung in remembrance of each Suffolk County resident. While the ceremony is set to begin at 8 a.m., the Survival Tree dedication ceremony is due to take place at 9:15 a.m.
