Eyes On The Skies Over The Seacoast As Aircraft Perform For Crowd

PORTSMOUTH, NH - The sun was out, temperatures perfect and that brought about 10,000 cars and 40,000 people out for the "Thunder Over New Hampshire" air show at Pease National Guard Air Base. Dozens of displays were set up by vendors to show their items, sell their services and educate the attendees. At 9:30 a.m. before the official start of the air show, a memorial service was held to reflect on the anniversary of the tragic 9-11 incident. A crowd of several hundred gathered to show their respect and also held a moment of silence. As many traditional air shows do the show was kicked off with paratroopers jumping from planes and entertaining the crowd. The show officially started Saturday and will run until Sunday, there were practice flights that many attended on Friday. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the headline performance took off at about 3 p,m. and stunned the crowd with their maneuvers, speed, and noise that emulated the thunder over New Hampshire.
